Fix MindTheGapps Play Store & Play Services Not Working

You flashed MindTheGapps, but the Play Store won't open, or you keep seeing "Google Play Services keeps stopping." Don't reflash blindly — most of these problems have a specific cause. Work through the fixes below in order.

Fix 1 — Confirm you flashed the correct package

A version or architecture mismatch is the top cause. The MindTheGapps Android version must match your ROM (e.g. Android 15 GApps on an Android 15 ROM), and the architecture must be right (arm64 for 64-bit devices). If it's wrong, reflash the correct one.

Fix 2 — Give the first boot time

The first boot after flashing GApps can take 5–10 minutes while Google services register. Wait before assuming something is broken. Crashes during this window are normal.

Fix 3 — Clear data for Google services

  1. Go to Settings → Apps → show system apps.
  2. Open Google Play Services → Storage → Clear data.
  3. Do the same for Google Play Store and Google Services Framework.
  4. Reboot and try again.

Fix 4 — Grant all permissions

Open Settings → Apps → Google Play Services → Permissions and enable everything (especially Contacts, Phone, and Storage). Missing permissions cause silent failures and sync errors.

Fix 5 — Reflash the ROM + GApps together

If the account won't add at all, the cleanest fix is a fresh flash: wipe, install the ROM, then flash MindTheGapps before the first boot, wipe cache/dalvik, and reboot.

Fix 6 — Certification ("Device is not Play Protect certified")

If Play Store shows the device as uncertified, register your device's Google Services Framework (GSF) ID with Google's device registration page, then clear Play Store data and reboot.

  • Make sure your ROM is fully booted and dated correctly (a wrong system clock breaks Google login).
  • Check the ROM's forum thread — some ROMs need a specific GApps variant.
  • Re-download the ZIP in case the file was corrupted.
